ABOUT SALLY

I have worked as a nurse for the last 20 years and have often wondered how we can support people more holistically with their health and ultimately their wellbeing. Through my own family story I came to understand that generational trauma informs many of our lives and can follow us around like ghosts; as though haunting. This energy can feel overwhelming and something we want to avoid. How do we give language, space, attention, compassion to these hauntings? How do we look at these wounded parts of ourselves that we buried at times of great loss and despair? How do we create moments, spaces of compassion for these woundings that weren't able to be expressed at the time? How do we meet our wounded hearts with love, acceptance and compassion? How do we sit with these parts of ourselves? How do we turn to those parts of ourselves we have erased, marginalised? How do we hold great losses long enough, compassionately enough, so they can reveal their true essence?

To work consciously with these questions, I became a Holistic Counsellor and Psychotherapist. Underlying my philosophy is the belief we each have our own answers to the questions we are asking. My therapeutic role is to hold a space for my clients to find their own answers. To do this, I work with the signals that show up in our narratives; nudges that manifest as symptoms; the mythic energy that is present as repeated patterns in our lives; the energy that weaves itself through our words, actions, movements, sounds, tones and longings; the symbolic messaging of our dreams. I seek to identify these signals and work with clients to bring them to their awareness where they can be known. I consider myself a facilitator for my clients discovery and meeting of those unknown and lost parts of themselves; a holder of space for my clients to come to know these parts, converse with them and discover their essence.

I work with women navigating all different stages of their lives; supporting them through transitions, loss, change, grief. I believe the therapeutic spaces we create together, are full of opportunities to discover and experience ourselves in new and essential ways. These spaces hold offerings and revelations of who we are and who we want to be come. They invite us to meet our true and essential selves; from this space our answers emerge.

If this feels like something you resonate with, and you are looking for support, please get in touch.

I completed Post Graduate Studies in Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy at Metavision Institute. My training is underpinned by the work of Arnold Mindell who founded Process Oriented Psychotherapy; and Rudolf Steiner who founded Anthroposophy.
